The Postman | Hand-Waxed 12.5oz Slub Selvedge Denim

245,00

The Postman is defined by honest craftsmanship. Each bag is bench-made, meaning a single maker is responsible for the piece from the first cut to the final stitch—no assembly lines, just a dedicated standard of construction. To ensure the bag stands up to daily use and the elements, the heavy-duty denim is hand-waxed. This process traps the natural character of the slub yarn while creating a water-repellent shell that will break in and fade uniquely to your lifestyle.

Description

Fit & Function

  • The Fabric: 12.5oz Vintage Sand 8S Slub Selvedge Denim. The “8S” refers to the thick, irregular yarns that give the bag its rugged, textured look and grit.
  • Outside Access: Designed with two exterior pockets—one open for quick-reach items and one secured with a high-quality zipper. A dedicated side pocket is perfectly sized for a water bottle or shaker.
  • The Closure: A classic messenger-style flap secured by a heavy-duty snap button, keeping your gear covered and secure.
  • Travel Ready: The back features a built-in Airport Sleeve, so you can slide the bag over your suitcase handle and move through the terminal hands-free.

Interior & Organization

  • Lining: 100% Linnen with a classic floral pattern
  • Main Compartment: A spacious interior built for your daily carry. It features a built-in organizer with dedicated slots for your passport, wallet, and phone.
  • Laptop Sleeve: A separate large compartment designed for a laptop or smart paper. The edge is finished with the visible Selvedge ID—the hallmark of authentic shuttle-loom weaving.
  • Built to Last: Every stress point is reinforced to handle a heavy load without losing its shape over time.

Materials & Origin

  • Provenance: Built in Portugal using premium selvedge denim.
  • The Wax: Hand-applied wax coating for natural weather protection.
  • Hardware: YKK zippers, hand-set snap buttons and Chicago screws.
  • Construction: Stitched with high-tenacity thread for maximum durability.

Availability: Because each bag is made by hand in small batches, production is limited. Lead times typically range from 2–5 weeks depending on our current workshop queue.

Denim | Care & Evolution

  • Wash: Turn inside-out. Hand soak in a tub or machine wash, cold or lukewarm with mild detergent.

  • Dry: Hang dry only; avoid tumble drying.

  • Note: Expect indigo bleeding—a signature mark of authentic Japanese denim.

Leather | Care & Evolution

  • Exposure: Avoid water; if wet, pat dry immediately.

  • Maintenance: Clean with a soft cloth; condition every 3–6 months.

  • Storage: Keep away from direct sunlight and heat. Store in a cool, dry place.

  • Hardware: Wipe regularly to maintain shine. Minor scratches add character.

Exotic Leather | Care & Evolution

  • Handling: Always slide through loops with the grain to prevent scale lifting.

  • Maintenance: Apply exotic leather conditioner every 3–4 months in the direction of the scales.

  • Storage: Hang straight by the buckle. Do not roll, as this causes scales to "gape."

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, barely damp cloth. Never rub against the grain.

  • Note: If a scale lifts, do not pull. Secure with a tiny dab of leather-safe adhesive.

Cotton | Care & Evolution

  • Wash: Turn inside-out; use cold or lukewarm water with gentle detergent.

  • Dry: Hang dry to preserve fit and color.

  • Press: Iron inside-out on low to medium heat.

  • Storage: Store in a cool, dry place.

Wool | Care & Evolution

  • Wash: Professional dry clean or hand wash cold with wool detergent.

  • Dry: Reshape and dry flat to prevent stretching.

  • Maintenance: Avoid excessive heat and friction to prevent pilling.

  • Storage: Store folded in a cool, dry place to retain garment shape.
