At Sal & Ouro, we create for the long haul. Our garments are designed to age with character, but even the toughest denims and leather faces the reality of time and friction. We distinguish between the integrity of our craft and the natural life of the fabric.
1. The Craftsmanship Guarantee (Always Complimentary)
We stand behind the work of our makers. If a garment fails due to a construction or material defect, we will fix it at no cost to you.
- Coverage: Loose seams, failing rivets, or hardware (buttons/zippers) issues.
- Duration: Lifetime.
- The Cost: Repair and return shipping are on us. You only cover the initial shipping to our studio.
2. The Repair Service (Wear & Tear)
Heavy use leads to “blowouts” in the crotch or thinning at the knees. This isn’t a defect; it’s a sign of a life well-lived. To keep your garment out of a landfill, we offer a dedicated repair service.
- Coverage: Holes, rips, and thinning fabric due to regular wear.
- The Cost: We charge a flat-rate repair fee (to be quoted upon inspection) to cover the specialized labor of our darning and mending.
- The Benefit: We use original materials and artisanal techniques (such as Sashiko or darning) that preserve the soul of the garment.
3. Trade-In & The Archive (Re-use + Swap)
If your journey with a Sal & Ouro piece has come to an end, don’t let it sit in a closet.
- Trade-in Credit: Return your old Sal & Ouro garment to us, and receive a €50 credit toward your next purchase.
- The Archive: We will professionally wash, repair, and re-certify these pieces to be sold in our Secondary Market. This ensures each garment continues its story with a new owner.
The Fine Print (Terms of Service)
To protect our makers and maintain our standards, the following rules apply:
- Hygiene First: We strictly only accept garments that are freshly laundered. For the safety of our tailors, unwashed items will be rejected and returned at your expense.
- Shipping: The client is responsible for shipping items to our studio in Portugal. We strongly recommend a trackable service.
- Original Owner: The Craftsmanship Guarantee is valid for the original purchaser with proof of purchase.
