13.8oz Double Black Sirospun Slub Selvedge Denim

100% cotton, one wash
13.oz warp slub, sirospun
origin: Guangdong China

Slub is woven in the warp allowing for a raindrop fading. Because of the sirospun the fades are more crisp almost graphical. This is a double black fabric where both the warp and weft yarns are dyed black. Alowiing for a rich pallet of grey tones in the fade.

Descrição

The Fade: What to Expect

As a Double Black denim (where both the warp and weft yarns are dyed black), this fabric does not fade to white. Instead, it evolves into a rich palette of grayscale tones.

  • The “Rain” Fade: Thanks to the Warp Slub, the first signs of wear will manifest as vertical lines. This creates a unique “rain effect,” where the thicker parts of the yarn shed their dye first.

  • Graphic Contrast: The sturdiness of the 13.8oz weight encourages sharp creases at the lap (whiskers) and behind the knees (honeycombs). Because the Sirospun yarn is so compact, these fades remain highly defined and crisp, rather than becoming blurry or fuzzy.

  • From Midnight to Anthracite: The fabric begins as an ink-black. Through intensive wear, high-friction zones will transform into anthracite and eventually a cool, steely mouse-gray.

Maker’s Advice: “To achieve the most high-contrast results, wear this denim for at least 6 months before the first wash. The fabric will literally mold to your body, becoming a personal ‘diary’ of your movements.”

Denim | Care & Evolution

  • Wash: Turn inside-out. Hand soak in a tub or machine wash, cold or lukewarm with mild detergent.

  • Dry: Hang dry only; avoid tumble drying.

  • Note: Expect indigo bleeding—a signature mark of authentic Japanese denim.

Leather | Care & Evolution

  • Exposure: Avoid water; if wet, pat dry immediately.

  • Maintenance: Clean with a soft cloth; condition every 3–6 months.

  • Storage: Keep away from direct sunlight and heat. Store in a cool, dry place.

  • Hardware: Wipe regularly to maintain shine. Minor scratches add character.

Exotic Leather | Care & Evolution

  • Handling: Always slide through loops with the grain to prevent scale lifting.

  • Maintenance: Apply exotic leather conditioner every 3–4 months in the direction of the scales.

  • Storage: Hang straight by the buckle. Do not roll, as this causes scales to "gape."

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, barely damp cloth. Never rub against the grain.

  • Note: If a scale lifts, do not pull. Secure with a tiny dab of leather-safe adhesive.

Cotton | Care & Evolution

  • Wash: Turn inside-out; use cold or lukewarm water with gentle detergent.

  • Dry: Hang dry to preserve fit and color.

  • Press: Iron inside-out on low to medium heat.

  • Storage: Store in a cool, dry place.

Wool | Care & Evolution

  • Wash: Professional dry clean or hand wash cold with wool detergent.

  • Dry: Reshape and dry flat to prevent stretching.
